ago, black and white pictures were the norm, particularly in office documents.
But today, color printing is very reasonably priced. Most every office
has access to a color printer of some kind. So, what can you do to spice
up a plain black and white image? How about an overlay of color?
1.
Open your document and scroll to your black & white image
If you haven't already inserted the image into your document,
you can learn how to do that here. We'll use
this CD-ROM drive photo as an example.
2. Choose the
"Rectangle" tool from the "Drawing toolbar"
If the Drawing toolbar isn't visible, go to the "View"
menu, pull down
to "Toolbars" and then select "Drawing." If there's already
a checkmark next
to it, deselect it. Then
go back and reselect it and watch where it appears on your screen. The "Rectangle"
tool looks like a small rectangle.
3. Create a rectangle
on top of the black and white image.
4. Go to the "Format"
menu and select "AutoShape"
5. Select the
"Colors and Lines" tab
6.
Choose a solid "Fill" color and click "Transparent"
7. Make sure the
"Line Color" box shows "No Line"
8. Click okay.
You can go back and easily change the overlay color or add
other shapes to create interesting designs.
